The Conjuring Universe Gets a Surprise New Release Ahead of Halloween!

The Conjuring Universe is getting a surprise new release just before Halloween, but fans will not find it in theaters. Instead, the horror franchise is expanding into gaming with a new Netflix title.

According to Netflix’s October 2026 New on Netflix newsletter, The Conjuring: Unspoken will join the streaming platform’s mobile and cloud gaming lineup. The upcoming game will introduce an original story connected to the horror franchise. It is also scheduled to arrive later in September 2026, giving fans a new way to experience the universe before Halloween.

The Conjuring Universe Expands Into Gaming

The Conjuring: Unspoken will be available through Netflix’s cloud gaming service. The game will also be part of Netflix’s mobile gaming lineup. Industry outlet What’s on Netflix reports that the game will feature an original storyline connected to The Conjuring franchise.

However, several details remain unknown. Netflix has not yet revealed the game’s creator or explained exactly how closely its story connects to the existing movies.

That leaves plenty of room for questions about whether the game will introduce new characters, revisit familiar locations, or expand established mythology.

The Conjuring: Unspoken Release Date

The upcoming game is scheduled to release later in September 2026. Its timing puts the new title just ahead of the Halloween season. That makes the release particularly notable for fans of the Conjuring Universe. Instead of another theatrical sequel or streaming movie, the franchise is taking its next major step through an interactive format.

Netflix has not yet revealed extensive gameplay details. More information about the game’s story and development could emerge closer to launch.

How Many Conjuring Universe Movies Are There?

The Conjuring Universe currently includes ten movies spanning the main series and several spin-offs. The franchise began with The Conjuring in 2013. The movie became a major worldwide success, earning $316,143,649 at the global box office, according to The Numbers. It also holds an 83% critics’ score on Rotten Tomatoes.

Annabelle followed in October 2014. The Conjuring 2: The Enfield Poltergeist then arrived in June 2016. The franchise expanded further with Annabelle: Creation in 2017 and The Nun in 2018. The Nun became another major box-office success. The movie earned $366,050,119 worldwide against a reported $22 million production budget.

The Franchise Continued With More Spin-Offs

Two Conjuring Universe movies arrived in 2019. The Curse of La Llorona debuted in April, while Annabelle Comes Home followed in June. The main series then returned with The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It in 2021. The Nun II continued the spin-off side of the franchise in 2023. The most recent theatrical installment was The Conjuring: Last Rites, which arrived in 2025.

According to The Numbers, The Conjuring: Last Rites earned $499,256,445 worldwide against a reported $55 million production budget. Its story once again centered on paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren. According to IMDb, the movie’s synopsis reads:

“Paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren take on one last terrifying case involving mysterious entities they must confront.”

The Conjuring Universe Has More Movies Coming

The Conjuring Universe is also set to continue beyond Last Rites. Warner Bros. Pictures and New Line Cinema are developing a prequel titled The Conjuring: First Communion. The movie is currently scheduled to arrive on September 10, 2027, with Rodrigue Huart directing.

While the prequel will expand the cinematic side of the franchise, The Conjuring: Unspoken gives the universe a different opportunity to explore its horror mythology.

A New Way to Experience The Conjuring

The Conjuring: Unspoken gives the franchise an unexpected release ahead of Halloween 2026. Instead of another movie, Netflix is bringing the horror universe into gaming. The game’s original storyline could also provide an opportunity to explore parts of the franchise that the movies have not previously covered.

For now, Netflix is keeping many details under wraps. However, its September 2026 release means fans may not have to wait long to discover what The Conjuring: Unspoken has in store.
